Actress Bipasha Basu was born on 7th January 1979 in New Delhi. She has two sisters Bidisha and Bijayeta. She knows Telugu, Bengali and Tamil languages too. She did her child education from Delhi and college from Kolkata. She started her career in modelling at the age of 17. Bipasha Basu entered in Film Industry from Ajnabee. She got proper recognisation in Indian Film Industry from her movie Raaz.

1. Ajnabee (2001)- A suspense moive directed by Abbas Mustan and produced by Vijay Galani. Bipasha in negative role of Sonia alongwith co-stars Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor. Raj Malhotra (Bobby Deol) is accused of Sonia’s murder he then escapes from police and prove himself innocent by finding Sonia on cruise ship. The movie the moderately successful but Bipasha’s performance was appreciated by critics and she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
2. Raaz (2002)- A horror movie, directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mahesh Bhatt, Bipasha played role of Sanjana Dhanraj with co-star Aditya Dhanraj (Dino Morea). Sanjana and Aditya go to Ooty for vacation and they stay in a bunglow where one girl Nisha was killed sometime ago. It was assumed that it happened due to some evil spirit. Here Sanjana faces mysterious things. Later she comes to know that it is Malini’s spirit, a girl who used to love Aditya and had committed suicide sometime ago. Sanjana comes to know that Body of Malini was not burnt after her death so she does it with the help of Professor Agni Swaroop (Ashutosh Rana). The moive helped her get recognisation in Indian Film Industry. The movie was blockbuster of the year. Bipasha Basu was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Female Actress.
3. Jism (2003)- Directed by Amit Saxena and produced by Pooja Bhatt, Bipasha played role of Sonia Khanna, wife of a big business man, Rohit Khanna (Golshan Grover), loves a young man Kabir (John Abraham). Sonia and Kabir kill Rohit Khanna, Later Kabir come to know that Sonia doesn’t love him and loves money only. Bipasha was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best female in Negative Role .
4. No Entry (2005)- A comedy movie directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, Bipasha plays role of a call girl, Bobby with co-stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley, Esha Deol and Fardeen Khan. The movie was biggest hit of the year. Bipasha was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
5. Corporate (2006)- Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, Bipasha plays role of Nishigandha Dasgupta, a businesswoman along with co-stars Raj Babbar, Kay Kay Menon, Minissha Lamba and Payal Rohatgi. Bipasha looked glamorous in this movie. Her performance was appreciated by critics. She was nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award.
